I have always held a fascination for cranes and egrets. The other day while walking around Como I saw one of these and immediately grabbed my camera to take a photo. I was reminded of a summer day at the cabin in 2007 when I looked out of the porch and saw this fellow standing on my dock. Determined to get a photo of him, I started down to the beach and he noticed me coming and started to act a bit nervous. I didn't want him to fly away, so I slipped behind the trunk of a giant tree about a hundred feet from shore. I almost laughed out loud when I peeked from behind the tree to see if he was gone. He had stepped over behind the dock's bench and was "hiding". Reminds me of the ostrich who thinks know one can see him when he buries his head in the ground. Guess these creatures do have a brain after all, huh?

Starting fresh...
Maybe that's why I love sunsets so much. Not only do I see their beauty and feel God's presence, but they seal the day in richness. Each day is precious and not a minute should be wasted. Sunsets put me in awe of nature and the creative genius of God. I hope to appreciate the moments of each day and use them fully. I pray that whenever I see or photograph a sunset it will remind me of the blessings I have and how lucky I am.
I have always felt that journalling is great for a person's mental health. Since I have been very lax about writing my innermost thoughts each day, I am hoping this will be a fresh start to do just that. I have thoroughly enjoyed the blogs of Kari and Amy and wish to start my own daily blog. Maybe no one will read it or care, but I plan to do it anyway. So here goes to a fresh start!
